The Prof. Tadeusz Hanausek Competition for the best dissertation/elaboration of the year in the field of forensics and criminology organised by Polish Forensic Association
Since 1999 Polish Forensic Association organises a yearly contest for dissertation of the year in the field of forensics and criminology.
Its main objective is to popularise forensics and show overview of its newest achievements.
Ph. D. & masters dissertations and scientific publications in the area of forensics and criminology are eligible for submission into the competition.
In 2002 the competition was named after Professor Tadeusz Hanausek and is now called Prof. Tadeusz Hanausek competition for the best dissertation/elaboration of the year in the field of forensics and criminology.
Rules and regulations regarding the awards
On 14th October 2016, the of XVII meeting of the Prof. Tadeusz Hanausek Competition Committee took place.
14 elaborations from different criminalistics environments and backgrounds were submitted to the competition this year.
The jury’s verdict was based on the scientific level, relevance and innovations in the approach to the discussed topic, as well as special significance for practice and back conclusions on the results of empirical research.
All submitted dissertations were published in 2015.
All awarded publications are presented in the protocol of the Competition Committee’s meeting
On 25th November 2016, the headquarters of Polish Forensic Association held the award ceremony for the winners of the seventeenth edition of the Prof. Tadeusz Hanausek Competition for the best dissertation/elaboration of the year in the field of forensics and criminology.
On 10 December 2015, University of Warsaw held the ceremony during which the awards were given to the winners of the sixteenth edition of the Prof. Tadeusz Hanausek Competition for the best dissertation/elaboration of the year in the field of forensics and criminology.

Competition for the Professor Bruno Holyst award for outstanding young criminalists
In 2009, the first edition of the competition for the Professor Bruno Holyst award for outstanding young criminalists took place. The founder of award aims to support studies and research in the field of forensics and criminology conducted by young scientists.
On 1st October 2015, a meeting of the Competition Committee (established by the Scientific Council of Forensic Association of Poland) was held.
